    In brief...

19 Feb 09: New runway lights

    Mike Fawdrey - Hednesford Staffs
Wolverhampton Halfpenny Green now has new extra bright replacement runway lights on 16/34 for night flying.

They have extra intensity lights fitted and a 4 box Papi for glideslope.

Some pilots out at Telford thought they may have looking at Birminghams lights.

HG also has an automatic fuel system using a swipecard system

HG seems expensive to hangar aircraft but at least the management there seem committed to supporting GA.

3 Jan 12: No MOGAS at Halfpenny Green

    James Kilford - UKGA Editor

From the HG FISO unit: MOGAS is no longer available at Halfpenny Green.

Their suppliers can no longer guarantee alcohol-free MOGAS so they will not make it available for aviation use.

They do stock unleaded AVGAS UL91 (as well as leaded AVGAS and Jet-A1).

Revisited Halfpenny Green on Monday 7 September from St. Michael’s. Warm welcome as always and we enjoyed a lovely bacon butty sat out in the sun watching the world go by. I could have stayed all day! Highly recommended: fuel for the aircraft and pilots; six excellent runways, reasonable landing fee and friendly welcome.
