“ | This was the first time I visiteed Booker and it is a great airfield. The ATC were ery friendly and helpful, although I bet my floater of a landing gave them a couple of laughs. The hard runway and parking is excellent. I can't actually remember the landing fee, so it couldn't have been too extortionate. The Airways Flying club personnel were very helpful. Only real downside was the cafe was closed and I arrived at about 11:30am on a glorious Sunday morning. But, I have been to the airfield by road and can vouch for it. ” |
“ | Very friendly ATC. ” |
“ | First visit to Wycombe on 24/9/2011. Very friendly and helpful ATC. Great amenities etc. ” |
“ | Flew there today for the first time, after visiting Aero expo by road. What a busy airfield it is ! training flights both fixed wing and rotary and gliding all at the same time. The Fiso was excellent, very precise and patient especially with us newcomers. The Pad (cafe) wasn't busy but it was friendly and good coffee was on hand.Good briefing facilities also available, definately worth a visit. ” |
“ | Flew into WAP last Friday to have a look around Aero Expo,. We had a mid morning slot and dispite the free for all last year with pilots arriving way before their alotted time and Stokenchurch Mask the epicentre of the UK GA fleet, this year was very civilised, nice one...Credit to the Aircraft parking chaps/Bowser crew and the mini bus team. We had a really nice day ( In the Sun) looking at extremely nice machines way beyond the reaches of many private aviators, but we can all dream. Thanks WAP for a well organised event.

“ | Visited Wycombe air park today for aero expo. Great runway (I used 24 hard). Tower and ground controllers very friendly and helpful with precise and easy to understand instructions. Some nice facilities for visiting pilots, although I am uncertain if they are available or not on 'normal' days when aero expo isn't happening. Looks like there is a nice cafe with outdoor seating. Would like to go back when its a bit quieter. ” |
“ | Visited Wycombe on 1 May after flying past it many times on the way to White Waltham.....! Should have gone sooner!
The trip down from the north was straightforward (via DTY VOR) and the ATC at Wycombe have to be the most helpful and friendly bunch I have ever met. They made the approach and departure routing easy.
Parking was very close to the buildings and handy for fuel too. There was a Transair shop on site – well stocked (and as usual, my plan to save money went out of the window as soon as I saw all the goodies….!)
Tried the “the Pad” café – very good bacon butties and tea. General fare seemed basic, but good. The outside seating was well set out with a great view of the airfield.
One unusual aspect of the airfield was the taxiway from the hard runway. It is situated between the hard runway and the parallel grass runway. After landing on 24, I was taxiing to the parking area with a powered aircraft landing just to my left and a glider just to my right. It works perfectly – I just wished I had a camera in my hand!
Well worth a visit – made easy and pleasurable by helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Good food at the Pad restaurant.
Well worth a visit ” |
“ | Visited the Aero Expo 12 Jun 09. Even though I booked myself on the wrong day and didn't realise it they allowed me to land & they were very busy.
Had a great day out & great food at 'The Pad' ” |
“ | Visite Aeroexpo on sunday at Wycombe. A big airfield and very efficient ATC and they were very busy. good runways and facilities. The show was very interesting with alot of new aircraft such as the new Tecnam twin which looked excellent. An airfield well worth visiting even without the show ” |
“ | Very efficient and helpful ATIS, nice club house and a friendly welcome. Venue for the annual GA show and deservedly so. ” |
“ | Wow, what a lovely airfield! ATC were very efficient and the landing fee was a very reasonable £14.00 for a PA28.
Would recommend checking a flight guide before you go as they have a non-standard joining procedure. Also worth checking the noise abatement procedure for departure which is available at reception.
Definitely worth a visit! ” |
“ | Lovely airfield, ATC are great and extremely helpful.
Not been here for a while. Dined at newly refurbished 'The Pad' (Formerly The Clubhouse- If I remember rightly), a vast improvement, great food, staff and a memorable day out. Recommended airfield! ” |
“ | I was surprised to see that it was over 3 years since my last visit to Wycombe and I'm pleased to say that the bar/restaurant facilities, as others have said, are much improved. The ATC folk are still as helpful as ever and it's a great example of a busy GA airfield. A good place to visit. ” |

A MUST VISIT airfield !! ” |
“ | Visited wycombe twice last week. Very friendly and efficient. The restaurant serves food which is well priced and of a very good quality.
Would definitely recommend ” |
“ | Been to Wycombe a couple of times recently. Although fairly busy it seems a great place with loads going on.
"The Clubhouse" bar/restaurant looks to have been re-fitted recently, v. tidy and the food is good too. It looks like it would be a rather nice place to sit outside in the summer and watch the world go by. ” |
“ | I flew down to Wycombe last week and it is a worthwhile destination. If you look at the airfield guides the joining procedure seems a little complicated but a PPR phonecall suggested I would probably be given a right base join and this is indeed what happened. It was quite disconcerting to have two Robbos chug across the threshold as I turned final but I gather this is the norm. There is also gliding (on opposite circuits) but it is all very well controlled with friendly and helpful ATC. The site cafe/restaurant is a little run down but the food is good and it was pleasant to sit on the terrace and watch the comings and goings. One slight downside is that the Bianchi Museum has moved to Compton Abbas... I feel another trip coming on. ” |
