Established in 2003 by James Kilford & Phil Murphy, UKGA is an online service for the UK's general aviation community, aimed at trainees and qualified pilots of light planes, microlights, helicopters and other aircraft, as well as non-flying enthusiasts. We couldn't quite find the GA site we wanted, so we decided to write one.
Today, with more than 20,000 registered members, UKGA provides pilot log books; a pilot currency checker; flight planning tools such as navigation and fuel planning; GPS downloads; PLOGs; up-to-date weather and NOTAMs; an events calendar; aviation news & classifieds; and a growing resource of information articles. Alongside these pilot tools is a huge amount of valuable and engaging user-generated content, from airfield reviews and flying photos to discussion forum debates and classified adverts.
UKGA's free membership is made possible by our advertisers, and we hope that you will support them and see what they have to offer.
We do have a small favour to ask. Our content is made more relevant by you. Please keep us informed about changes to your local airfield and let us know if you see any errors or omissions.
Finally, our site is driven by user feedback; if you think we should add a feature, let us know. We're as excited as you are about where we can take UKGA.
