The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has published updated safety guidance for the organising of firework displays, mass balloon releases and light shows in relation to their effects on aerospace.

CAA and ASI at SPLASH event this weekend

The Sport & Leisure Aviation Show (SPLASH) taking place this weekend (29-30 November) at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham will showcase the whole spectrum of lightweight sport flying, from simple paraglider canopies to 'hotship' composite microlights capable of cruising at 130kts or more.

The World Aerobatics Championships (WAC) 2009 is set to take place at Silverstone in the UK in August -- the first time since 1986 that the World Aerobatics Championships is being hosted in the UK.
