Change to pilot medical requirements

Following changes to the Air Navigation Order the UK Civil Aviation Authority has expanded an exemption to allow the holder of a UK issued pilot’s licence to continue flying microlights, self launching motor gliders and simple single engine aircraft if they hold a medical declaration from their GP.
Restriction removed on some aircraft on overflying congested areas

The UK Civil Aviation Authority announced yesterday that it has issued an exemption to allow certain aircraft flying on a Permit to Fly to operate over congested areas, as long as such flights are conducted within the rules of the air.
Controlled airspace established around Robin Hood airport

New measures to enhance the safety of air traffic control operations in the area of Robin Hood Airport near Doncaster have been approved by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
