BBC to show Biggles Biplane restoration story

The story of the six year-long restoration of the “Biggles Biplane” Royal Aircraft Factory BE-2 replica will be broadcast on Monday 23rd January at 7.30pm on BBC East's ‘Inside Out’. It may be shown in other areas, too, but for those unable to find the live programme it will also be available on i-Player afterwards.
Two die in light aircraft crash near Welshpool

Two people have died after a twin engine aircraft crashed into Long Mountain in Powys, Mid Wales. The Wales Air Ambulance service confirmed the deaths after it was called to Leighton, near Welshpool, at 12:44 GMT today.

British Gliding Association win GA Safety Award

A major initiative to reduce glider accidents has won the 2011 General Aviation Safety Award. The British Gliding Association’s (BGA) Safe Winch Launch Team scooped the award after judges learned that the initiative, which has been running for six years, had dramatically reduced the number of fatal glider accidents.
CAA announces Manchester Airspace change

Following a review of airspace arrangements in the Manchester area, and consultation with all sections of the aviation community, the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has approved changes to the boundaries of the Manchester Control Zone (CTR).
CAA approves Transition Altitude change for SE England

Old Buckenham Airshow unveils plans for 2012

The Old Buckenham Airshow will return in 2012 on 24th June, once again raising funds for the work undertaken by the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
