'Alternative' Christmas gift could save Sandown

The Isle of Wight Flying Club has revealed that it is setting up a charitable trust in a bid to buy Sandown airfield (EGHN) - which is now in receivership and up for sale - and plans to run it as a not-for-profit organisation.
FSB fighting council over Sheffield City Airport destruction

The former Sheffield City Airport is about to be redeveloped and its runway destroyed. The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) is fighting to reverse that decision, gathering signatures to a petition that would force the city council to debate the issue - and the FSB is convinced that it has sufficient support amongst councillors to drive through the call for an independent review. In a new twist, a bidder for the airport has emerged, and he plans to kick-start GA at Sheffield.
Centurion Engine Service Centre now available at RGV Aviation

The Gloucestershire based Aircraft and Avionics maintenance company RGV Aviation Ltd is now a certified Centurion Engine Service Centre, providing maintenance on the full range of Centurion engines from 1.7L to 4.0L, along with installation and upgrade work to existing engine installations.
US petrol stations mistakenly distribute aviation fuel

Several petrol stations in New Jersey, USA, were mistakenly delivered aviation fuel over the weekend, meaning that many motorists unwittingly filled up with the wrong fuel.
