Manchester Barton freezes prices for landing fees, aircraft parking & hangarage

City Airport (Manchester Barton) has announced that following their reduction in the price of Avgas 100LL last December, they are now freezing all their charges from 1st April 2012 -- including landing fees, aircraft parking and hangarage -- to help ease the burden of increasing costs for GA activity.
Coventry Airport breaks into the 'Top 10'

Coventry Airport finished 2011 ranking in 8th place out of the 64 UK reporting airports for private flight movements, based on CAA Annual Statistics. It was the third busiest airport in the UK for flight training movements, behind only Bournemouth and Oxford -- and has announced that it is freezing its landing fees, ILS and touch-and go rates to help further encourage GA activity, with ambitions to make it into the top five in the CAA league table in 2012.

CAA to extend ‘same day’ services

Following feedback and requests from customers, the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) will be extending its optional ‘same day’ and ‘fast-track’ turnaround services across more of its business areas, it was announced today. The services, which are currently available only for airworthiness products and services - such as Over-Flight Exemptions and Permit to Fly renewals - will be extended to include some of the services presently provided by the aircraft registration, personnel licensing and flight operations departments.

Success for British/French national aircraft cross-border approval

The LAA has announced that a resolution has been reached to counter the bureaucratic problems that have for several years plagued pilots flying between Britain and France in light aircraft which operate on national certification other than full Certificate of Airworthiness.
