iPad mapping in UKGA new year updates

UKGA has had a new-year update, introducing maps for iPads and Android tablets. The new mapping system will open up all the UKGA maps – NOTAMs, weather, flight planning, classifieds and more – on to the popular tablets.
Vandalised Popham urges witnesses to come forward

Popham Airfield is asking potential witnesses to come forward after it was vandalised overnight on Sunday 27th January, with damage to the offices, clubroom, and the Wiltshire Aircraft Maintenance hangar. The criminals smashed aircraft windows, graffitied aeroplanes and stole equipment, but Popham is hoping CCTV images and Crimestoppers information will bring them to task.

Transair launches new 1:1,000,000 UK chart

Transair has announced the launch of its new 1:1 000 000 United Kingdom and Ireland VFR chart. Created by Transair, Editerra, and Jean Bossy, the chart covers the whole of the United Kingdom, Ireland and parts of Northern France and West Belgium.
CAA to accept online applications and payments

The CAA is soon set to offer online applications and provide payment options for certain services through secure online processes. As part of a major project to update and improve the way it handles applications, the CAA will begin accepting e-applications and payments, initially, for two services: Part 145 maintenance organisation approvals, and national Permit to Fly renewals.
CAA issues statement on London helicopter crash

Newquay's Classic Air Force to open in March

Newquay Airport's Classic Air Force (CAF), a brand new tourist attraction for Cornwall, is set to open to visitors on Friday 29th March 2013. Cornwall's Living Aircraft Museum will be home to Europe's largest collection of airworthy post-war classic aircraft, many of which will still fly.
EASA approves Avidyne DFC90 autopilot for Cessna 182

Avidyne Corporation has received EASA approval of the DFC90 Digital Autopilot in European-registered Cessna 182-series aircraft, when interfaced with the Evolution Pro Primary Flight Display (PFD) from Aspen Avionics of Albuquerque.
