LAA statement on Plymouth Jodel

The Light Aircraft Association has confirmed that the Jodel 120 aircraft which was held by the owners of the now-closed Plymouth Airport following a precautionary landing to avoid bad weather, has now been given permission to leave. It is hoped that, weather permitting, it will leave on Friday morning, 28th August.
CAA statement on Shoreham Air Show accident

The CAA has announced the following: • As a precaution, on Saturday 22 August we took steps to ensure no further flights were made by Hawker Hunter aircraft - this temporary restriction remains in place. • Flying displays over land by vintage jet aircraft will be significantly restricted until further notice. They will be limited to flypasts, which means "high energy" aerobatics will not be permitted. • The CAA will conduct additional risk assessments on all forthcoming civil air displays to establish if additional measures should be introduced.
Daedalus Vision consultation takes flight

Fareham Borough Council has launched its draft Daedalus Vision consultation and is encouraging people to have their say until 23 September.
Regulations ease up on charity flights

More UK private pilots will be able to offer flights for charity following a simplification of the Civil Aviation Authority’s (CAA) requirements. New guidance replaces the Aeronautical Information Circular (AIC W 104/201) on Charity Flights.
UK extends SERA exemptions

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) today confirmed that some of the UK’s existing exemptions from the Standardised European Rules of the Air (SERA) will continue. The CAA will continue to work closely with the European Commission, European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and UK Department for Transport (DfT) regarding the development and implementation of SERA.
