Harrier overruns on landing

Harrier GR7 ZD437 coded 49 over-ran the runway at St. Athan shortly after noon on Thurs 21 Aug after having a bird-strike. Damage from this caused a hydraulic failure meaning the loss of brakes etc. The pilot was taken to the Station Sick Bay though is thought to have been unhurt.... though is believed to be doing a roaring trade in blackberries in the Officers Mess.
The aircraft nose broke through the perimiter fencing close to the little used Vale railway track & also caused the temporary closure of the Barry - Llantwit Major road whilst the aircraft systems were made safe.
