Helicopter crash in Northern Ireland

Up to four people are feared dead after a helicopter crashed yesterday in the Mountains of Mourne in County Down, on Northern Ireland's eastern coastline.

Police are yet to confirm the number of people killed, but at least two and up to four people are feared dead.

According to media reports, mountain rescue teams, the coastguard and air accident invesstigators were alertedn after a member of the public reported seeing an aircraft in trouble. The wreckage was found on Saturday night near Hilltown.

The helicopter is understood to have taken off from the St Angelo airport in Enniskillen in County Fermanagh and crashed at around 4pm at the Leitrim Lodge Picnic area of the mountain range.
