UKGA announces Tea & Cakes Summer Fly-in
UKGA this week announced a Tea & Cakes Summer Fly-in, open to all UKGA members, which will take place at Leicester Airport on 4 June 2011.
The event will offer a chance to meet up with UKGA friends old and new, meet the UKGA team, suggest new site features, and talk planes. There will also be prizes, giveaways and competitions – plus the all-important free tea and cakes!
Leicester has been chosen as the venue for the fly-in because it has received good reviews from UKGA members and offers a central location. The airport is also offering a half-price landing fee of just £6 per aircraft to all those who fly in as part of the UKGA event.
Budding bakers are welcome to bring a cake, but there's no pressure as UKGA will be providing plenty for everyone!
Full details can be found on the fly-in event page. Please add yourself to the event so Leicester can make necessary arrangements for numbers.
About Leicester Airport (EGBG)
This airfield has a long and interesting history, established in 1909 by Leicester Aero Club - one of the few aero clubs that runs its own airfield to this day. Leicester has a comfortable lounge, club room and bar, and food is served at lunchtime and in the evenings. Add to this briefing facilities for local and visiting pilots, and it's easy to see why Leicester is such a popular and well-thought-of destination.
