Heli Air opens new helicopter base at Fairoaks
Heli Air has announced the opening of a new helicopter base at Fairoaks Airport near London, which will be managed by Chief Flying Instructor Gary Savage.
Fairoaks is a popular GA airport offering good facilities for helicopter flying.Heli Air brings a full FTO and TRTO on various aircraft, which means they can complete full PPL(H) courses, CPL(H) courses, and Type Ratings on the majority of single engine aircraft.
Heli Air has already based an R44 at the airfield, and expects another R44 and a Bell 206 to arrive in the near future. In the Spring the company plans to add several additional aircraft as the operation grows, particularly a float-equipped machine for River Thames and London heli-routes, and hopes to base the new Robinson R66 Turbine helicopter there as well.
In a press release, Heli Air said: "Gary Savage is one of the most experienced professionals in the helicopter industry and Heli Air are delighted he is the new Base Manager at Fairoaks. As a Chief Flying Instructor he brings with him a wealth of knowledge of instruction, examining and public transport capabilities with various aircraft."
Gary will be joined by other instructors and commercial pilots in the future.
