Location: Sackville FarmVisited Sackville Farm airfield on 21/08/2019 as part of a 3 airfield land away day.
This was the third stop of the day in G-ROLY a C172 based at Netherthorpe. PPR was easy to arrange and a briefing was given over the phone to ensure we were aware of the noise sensitive areas. A dog leg on base will avoid any problems with the neighbours. There are no runway markings and the runway has a slight curve in it but it is smooth enough.
One other aircraft on the ground on arrival and a friendly clubhouse with tea, coffee and snacks were available. Landing fee was a simple £5.
It is worth mentioning that departing on runway 31 will require a climb over a wood and an upslope so it is worth building some speed and climbing away promptly.
A nice grass roots level airfield, long may it survive!
